 Ministry to the Needy

One of the critical burdens God has placed in our hearts is to actively pursue the pattern of what is sometimes called social justice.  This is a practice ordained by our God in both the old and new testaments.  In this practice while preaching the Word of God we are also moved with compassion to meet the physical or material needs of people that are in distress.  For us the grace of giving directly into the needs of orphans, widows, widowers, strangers, and the needy in general is fundamental to the ministry of the Word of God.  Whatever it is that members of the materially disadvantaged communities need, we mobilize business, members of the Christian communities, and others to prioritize the plight of the poor.  We must emphasize that this approach comprises of continuous but short term interventions.  In the long term, our strategy is to empower the poor with knowledge, skills, and wisdom to release their own God given creative potential in order to make products or services that can be exchanged in the market place for profit.  Our short term strategy entails:

• Giving food parcels in informal settlements, villages, and poor towns.
• Giving clothing to orphanages, old age homes, and people in distress that we locate when we do door to door evangelism.
• Building libraries and donating books to poor communities.
• Building shelters for home-less people.
• Mobilizing financial assistance to ensure that every child from families that cannot afford to send their children to school is afforded that opportunity.

 NOW YOU CAN BECOME  OUR PARTNER AND SHARE IN THE GRACE OF GIVING.  YOU MAY THINK YOU DON'T HAVE  ANYTHING TO GIVE, BUT IF YOU LOOK CAREFULLY IN YOUR CLOSETS YOU WILL FIND STUFF THAT YOU HAVE NOT USED FOR THE PAST FIVE YEARS OR SO.  WHEN MY WIFE ELIZABETH
